Gilbert Carl Gass

Gilbert Carl Gass,84, passed away March 28,2018 in Lytle Nursing Home where he resided since suffering a stroke in 2002. He was born June 21,1933 to Otto and Edna Boenig Gass; and was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 41 years, Dorothy Gass, siblings Linda Becker, James and Richard Gass, and step-son Rene De Cock Jr. He is survived by step-daughter Charlotte(Ray) Gallaway, children: Michael(Kathy), Carl, Pam, and Nancy; siblings: Oscar (late Catherine), David (Barbara), Lillie Wells (late Bob), Stella (Joe) Elsworth, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, dedicated friend Rita Worthey, and “family”at Lytle Nursing Home. Gilbert was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Belgian American Club of Texas, and Sheet Metal Workers Union. Family will receive guests at the funeral home Monday, April 2,2018 from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. Service will continue Tuesday, April 3,2018 with a 3:00p.m. Celebration of Life at Zion Lutheran Church, 9944 Leslie Rd. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Zion Lutheran Church and cemetery, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, or charity of choice are appreciated.
