Gilbert Gaitan Garcia

Gilbert Gaitan Garcia age 78 of San Antonio, Texas passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2022. Mr. Garcia was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 19, 1944 to parents Juan and Simona Garcia. Gilbert attended Lanier High School where he was in the R.O.T.C. He later attended St. Philip's College and S.W. Texas State University. Gilbert became an LVN, but never worked as a nurse. He decided to pursue a career in respiratory care instead and became a Registered Respiratory Therapist. During his career he worked in various settings to include hospitals, long term care facilities, and medical equipment companies. Gilbert was always a very caring, hard working, friendly, polite, and respectful employee. After a long career he retired at age 70. During Gilbert's lifetime he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going fishing, watching sports and movies on TV, working on his cars, cooking (he was a very good cook too), listening to music, going dancing, going to casinos, and going out to eat.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Simona Garcia; his brother, Juan Garcia; and his sisters, Delia Garcia and Iris Garcia.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Sandy; his sons, Gilbert Garcia Jr.(Anna); Patrick Garcia (Vanessa); Robert Garcia(Lara); and Daniel Garcia. He is also survived by his Grandchildren, Christopher; Gilbert the 3rd.; Megan; Jonah; Patrick James; and Robert John; and his Great Grandchildren, Zara and Wyatt along with numerous other family members and friends.

Gilbert is lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home located at 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Tx. on Saturday, May 20th from 3:00PM to 6:00PM with a Memorial Service to start at 4:00PM. Refreshments will be available in the coffee lounge.
