Gilbert Borrego Cisneros, age 88, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Wednesday June 17, 2020. Gilbert was born October 14, 1931. He is preceded in death by his sons Andrew R. Cisneros, Gilbert G. Cisneros; brothers Guadalupe Cisneros, Richard Cisneros & Andrew Cisneros and sisters Carmen Gonzalez and Beatrice Cisneros. He survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Mary Helen Cisneros; children; Javier Cisneros (Yvonne), Yolanda Valdez (Greg), William Acosta, Amanda Perales and Servando "Boloy" Perales (Jamie); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; special niece Vangie Gonzalez. Gilbert was a U.S. Army veteran who served for 12 years as an E5 Sergeant. He also worked for the U.S. Post Office for 32 years. Gilbert loved cooking bar b q's for his family. He enjoyed lawn work, Dallas Cowboys and Spurs games, playing 31 card games and dancing. He was an usher for his church and will be truly missed by his family and friends. A visitation for Gilbert will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 5:00 pm at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A rosary service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 10:00 at St. Alphonsus, Catholic Church on South Zarzamora St, San Antonio, TX 78237. Interment to follow at San Fernando II Cemetery.
