George L. McKee Sr.

George L. McKee, Sr. of San Antonio, Texas passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017. He was born to Leslie Virgil and Abbey McKee in Ripley, Oklahoma on May 9, 1926. He was married his wife, Beatrice on May 25, 1945. They were married for 57 years. George proudly served his country in the United State Army during WWII as an M.P. and was honorably discharged in May of 1947. He devoted his life to God, his wife and family, and his job. He was a generous soul that will be greatly missed by family and friends.

George McKee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beatrice; his daughter, Esther Hickman; and 11 of his siblings. He is survived by his brothers, Jerry and Bobby McKee, his children, George McKee, Jr. (Margaret), Dorothy Rodriguez, Frances McKee, Michael McKee, and Beatrice Ward; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 18th from 6-8 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, May 19th at 10:30 am at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz, San Antonio, Texas 78209 with interment and military honors to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78237.
