George D. McCulloch

George D. McCulloch entered into eternal rest on February 10, 2012 at the age of 95. He was born on April 20, 1916 in Somerset, TX to Jack and Nina McCulloch. He graduated from Somerset High School in 1933, later enlisting in the United States Army in 1941. George was honorably discharged 1946 as a Tech Sergant. He worked at Brooks AFB in Civil Service unitl the Korean War. He re-enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably discharged in 1953. George returned to work in Civil Service from 1953 till his retirement in 1977. In his younger years enjoyed playing sports. In the years that fallowed he became an avid bowler. He won many bowling tournaments, trophies, & ribbons. George bowled till his mid 80's. He was preceded in death by his mother & father, Nina & Jack McCulloch; 2 brothers; and 1 sister. George is survived by his loving wife, Margaret McCulloch; sons, Dr.Thomas McCulloch DDS, Wesley, Daniel, and Darrell Danklefs; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
