George W. Hayes

George W. Hayes, age 86, passed away June 6, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 13, 1925 in Sunfish, Kentucky to James and Mary Ellen Hayes. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service and also retired from civil service at Kelly AFB. He is survived by his wife, Katherine E. Hayes; daughters, Georgianna Ackroyd, Teresa Lynn Gallivan and Elisa Katherine Fischer; 10 grandchildren, and10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Simon, Dorothy Frediech, Betty Jennings and Susie Brown; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road with Rev. Msgr. Patrick Cronin officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Air Force military honors
