George Felton Sr. was born on December 22, 1936, in Colfax Louisiana to Richard Felton Sr. and Elnora White Felton. George surrounded by loved ones, peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on July 11, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas in his home at the age of eighty-seven.
George accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church where he was baptized. In his later years, he was a faithful associate member of Joshua House of Worship. He married Cornelia Felton on May 24, 1958, and from that union three children were born. He traveled to various places (i.e., Germany, Thailand) in his lifetime as a member of the United States Air Force for twenty-one years. After retiring from the Air Force, he started working at USAA as the Food Service Director for twenty-one years and touched the lives of many. He was a selfless husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, etc. who loved everyone. George enjoyed watching and playing sports, cooking his famous chili mac dish, spending time with his family, and his favorite football team was the Washington Redskins. George was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and five brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 66 blessed years, Cornelia Felton (San Antonio, TX); children, George Felton, Jr. (San Antonio, TX), Lawrence Cornell Felton (Cheryl) Santa Clara, CA; Marla Denise Campbell (Byron) Temple, TX; 10 grandchildren (Erica R. Felton Atlanta, GA), Lawrence M. Felton, Trenton D. White (Whitney), Terrence C. White, D’Andre’ M. White (Daveena), Byron K. Campbell (Bakersfield, CA), Raekwon C. Campbell, Kendall MJ. Sooknanan (Pearland, TX), Jordan D. Campbell, and Siennah C. Campbell (San Antonio, TX); 10 great-grandchildren: Absyde Felton, Alliyah Felton, Elijah Felton, Jayden Felton, Jaden Felton, Joshua Felton, Jeremiah Felton, Genesis Felton, Jordan Felton, and Jamari Felton (Atlanta, GA); sisters, Jennifer Brown (LaMarque, TX) and Lucille Hamilton (Reverend Tom Hamilton) Colfax, LA; brothers, James Felton (Arlington, TX), Charles Felton (Colfax, LA), Edward Felton (Durham, NC), Herman Felton (Colfax, LA), Edwin Felton (Beverly) Baker, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
