During his military years, he was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge, Presidential Unit Citation and The Purple Heart Medal. He moved his family back to San Antonio and worked for Christus Santa Rosa.
George loved his family and spending time together. He supported us at sporting, school and/or church events. One of his favorite traditions was to take the family to the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, “the night parade.” He loved music and dancing especially at El Mercado and he also loved to make others laugh. George enjoyed watching the news. He wanted to stay current on events around the world. He also encouraged everyone to vote. He probably tried to convince you a time or two on whom you should vote for. He also loved to build, draw and plant. George is loved and will be missed dearly. He will always be our Hero!
