Geneva Chavarria, age 76, passed away June 2, 2014. She was born on February 2, 1938 in Tynan, Texas to Manuel and Jesusa Salaiz. She is survived by her children, Myrna Chavarria, Joseph Chavarria, Ralph Chavarria, Sonia Lehr, Jaime Chavarria and Denise Chavarria-Rivera; grandchildren, David Gallegos, Bianca Gonzalez, Adelina Gallegos, Joseph Bazan Chavarria Jr., Garrette Chavarria, Ciara Chavarria, Jeanette Campos, Alcadio Campos IV, Alyssa Ponce, Jessica Chavarria, Joshua Chavarria, Kristin Chavarria, Victoria Chavarria, Jaime Chavarria, Christopher Martinez, Carla Williams, Michael Rivas and Donald Burgess Jr., 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Manuel Salaiz; sisters, Janie Pena and Linda Salaiz; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
