Gayle S. Smith

Gayle S. Smith went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2017 at the age of 81 in San Antonio, Texas. Gayle was born in Wichita, Kansas to Ralph Joseph and Bethany Alma Studebaker on April 30, 1935. She has reunited with her parents, husband George L. Smith, brother Bruce Studebaker and sister Beverly Studebaker. She is survived by her children: Lisa (Mike) Wilson, Gregory Smith, Stephen (Gail) Smith, Daniel (Laura) Smith; grandchildren: Steven Wilson, Caitlin Wilson, Brandon Smith, Ryan Smith, Matthew Smith, Keaton Smith, Michael Smith, Matthew Smith, Mitchell Smith, Austin Smith, Connor Smith; sister Nancy Firner; and numerous other relatives and friends. In her younger years Gail spent many years as a missionary in Mexico. Her true calling was being a nurse as she spent over 50 faithful years taking care, educating, and counseling others, in the field. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. with a celebration of her life at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. The family invites you to a reception following the gravesite service at Tomatillo's located at 3210 Broadway.
