Gary Dennis Guy was born February 15, 1947, in Tucson, Arizona and joined his Lord and Savior on September 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He valiantly fought his illness for more than eight years. Gary and Linda celebrated 57 years of marriage on this earth and now they are reunited eternally in heaven.
He came from humble beginnings with a passion for engineering and geology. As a first-generation college graduate, he received his mining engineering degree from the University of Arizona. His career spanned more than 50 years and maintained his licensure of Professional Engineer for more than 40 years.
Gary lived a life of integrity, exhibited a humble spirit, demonstrated a selfless attitude, and showed compassion to all. He modeled a servant’s heart that always sought to please and point to the Lord. Gary taught children’s Sunday school for more than 45 years and served as a deacon for more than 20 years. He participated and led multiple men’s study groups throughout his life.
He was the rock of our family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was the ultimate example for his sons of how to be true men. He showed them how to love God, their wives, and their children. He taught them how to lead by example, never compromise your values, be humble, work hard, and always have integrity. His legacy will live through each generation to come.
Gary is preceded in death by his wife Linda, his parents Johnnie Guy and Francis Gianino, and his brother Jim Guy. He is survived by his sons Michael Guy (Hilary) and Evan Guy (Melissa); grandchildren Tate (Courtney), Bishop, Jared, Madilyn, Emily, and Ella; great grandchildren Isabelle, Asher, and Aspen; brothers Johnnie Guy, Jr. (Sherry), Tony Gianino (Nancy), Michael Gianino, and Vincent Gianino; sister Angie (David); sister-in-law Amy Graham (Chris); and a host of nieces and nephews.
