Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Olivarez; father, Frank Olivarez, Sr; brothers, Robert Olivarez and Rene Olivarez and sister in law, Sandra Rico.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of almost 49 years, Maria Yolanda Olivarez; sons, Rene (Elena) Olivarez and John Olivarez; grandsons, RJ and Nathaniel; brother, Roel Olivarez; sisters, Rachel Sanchez, Maria (Stan) Nipper, Rhonda (David) Reyes, Sandra (Bill) Grimes and father and mother in law, Gilbert and Susie Rico. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and displayed his patriotism proudly. Frank then worked for the US Postal Service for 28 years. Always an avid fisherman, he shared his love of fishing with his sons, grandsons, nieces and nephews. Then he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a fisher of men, touching the lives of everyone he came across.
Frank cherished his time with family and his church family. Frank loved spending time with his brothers and sisters and they often vacationed at the coast together or went camping at Canyon Lake. He always led his family in prayer before every meal and always appreciating all that his family has been blessed with and giving thanks to God first and foremost.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Church of God, 7431 S. Presa St., 78223 with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, August 20, 2021 a chapel service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd., 78211 with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
