I met Keith when I attended Wichita State University. I have many fond memories - dancing at the Penthouse Club in Wichita, watching the football games, etc. I have some great photos from those college days. I knew his wife Susie very well. I last saw Keith in Wichita at the memorial service on the 40th anniversary of the plane crash. I will keep Keith and his family in my prayers.

I started attending school in Hawkins my 6th grade year after completing the 5 grades my small community school had to offer. This was a bit of culture shock since I was transitioning from a class of 4 to a class of twenty-something. After learning names and faces of my new classmates, Keith was one of the really cool guys who stood out since he seemed to know everyone - including the high school football heroes – and everyone seemed to know and like him. Being accepted and liked are big ticket items when one is approaching teenage years! Keith became one of my really good friends. Keith was a fierce competitor in sports, an ‘A’ student, a natural leader and just an all-around great guy. If you ever had the pleasure of hanging out at his home, you know from whence his demeanor originated. His parents were totally supportive of Keith, Mike and Mary and their friends and all their school activities. As unfortunately happens so often to high school friends, Keith and I lost contact with each other after graduation for many years but had an occasion to get together one last time at a reunion in Fredericksburg (Thank you, T.O.) and had a wonderful time of recalling old memories. Keith never changed from being that great guy I knew in high school! My prayers go out to Mike, Mary, C.J., and all Keith’s other family members and friends during their time of mourning. 

Keith was a dear friend.  We worked together for many years.  He was always positive and upbeat.  We shared many memories and experiences to numerous to mention.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.  Rest in peace my friend.

We moved to Hawkins when I was 3 years old.  Keith and Charles were close in the neighborhood and we regularly traded comic books.  I was always excited to get a new comic book so I could trade with them.  I loved Keith like a brother and had so much respect for him.  We went to the same church from the time we got to Hawkins and went through 12 years of school together.  He will be missed.  Praying for his daughter Christi, Mary, Mike and all the family.  

Neighbors, classmates, friends forever! I always enjoyed his calm demeanor and cute grim. Will always remember him fondly.

Keith was my oldest friend from Hawkins, Texas. We lived fairly close to each other; our fathers owned stores that set next to each other in the downtown area--we saw each other almost every day.  Keith & I played together on almost all of the Hawkins' teams- and were close team mates. Keith usually was one of the best performers on our teams-he also was a complete team player.
When we entered High School, we added many new friends, while keeping those of elementary school. Football was a sport that the whole town got behind, & Keith quickly demonstrated skills at the High School level, beginning our freshman year.
Hawkins then was known for running the option; what was called "the Pattern", mostly running football. One game at home, when we were behind in the 4th quarter, a pass was called--something we did only occasionally. Keith played tight end, and on the snap the quarterback dropped back; two receivers were covered, but Keith broke downfield behind his defender. The ball was thrown over Keith's head--but Keith was able to jump in the air, and somehow catch the ball; falling into the endzone for the winning touchdown! Winning was important, but putting forth maximum effort was expected--and Keith always put forth that effort!  Many other wins followed, but Keith showed leadership skills and an ability to compete for the rest of High School. 
Keith remained a good friend to all and worked with many of us during the years. He will be missed! Thanks to Christie for her love and support of Keith during these last, difficult years. Condolences to Mike, Mary and their families. 


I played football with Keith at WSU.  He was so devoted to his wife, it was an inspiration to us  all, particularly at that time of our lives.  He was a team player and lead by example.  He was quiet and unassuming, but incredibly influential in the way he handled himself.   He certainly will be remembered by those of us at WSU who had the pleasure of being on a team with him.


Keith was a friend but almost like a brother.  I can't remember not knowing Keith.  Our family and the Morrisons go back a long time celebrating birthdays together by eating out at El Chicos in Tyler on half price night.  Of course it was a cheap meal, but who cares, we had fun.  We went to Bible School and Sunday School together at First Baptist Church in Hawkins.  Prayers are with Christie who was a good daughter for Keith especially in the last few years.  Prayers also for  Mike, Mary and the rest of the family.  T.O.

On behalf of the McRae Family, please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Keith.  We feel great sadness knowing we have lost an exceptional man, friend and neighbor that we admired. We do, however, rejoice in knowing he has graduated to Glory!

Mary and Mike, we share your sorrow and know how proud you feel having a wonderful brother.

It seems like I have always known Keith. I remember in the second grade he had brought a jar with frogs in it. He sat behind me and I was sure hoping he would not take any of them out. I hated frogs.
He never took them out in class. 
 Mary , Mike and Christie you had a wonderful brother and father.
