On the morning of December 12, 2014, Frank was called home to be with our Lord, after an eight year battle with cancer. Frank was 58 years old.
Frank was born in Miami, Florida on April 21, 1956. He was the first born child of Francis Tracy Morris and Gwendolyn Louise Sullivan. While growing up, Frank and his brother Andrew Tracy Morris, along with Gwen, loved playing the piano. Andrew recalled a time, when Frank 8, and Andrew 6, were asked by their mom to "Come over here and play a pretty song for your momma". After Drew's turn, Frank was getting ready for his, when someone bumped the piano causing it to tip over, about to fall on Frank. Always wise beyond his years, he had the knowhow to put his arms up, stopping the piano from crushing him, until help arrived.
After High School, Frank enlisted in the US Army in August 1974, attending Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. After schooling, he was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, to work as a Radio Telegrapher. 19 at the time, he was the youngest Soldier ever at Fort Carson to achieve the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Frank was Honorably Discharged from the Army in August 1977, returning home to Miami. Frank then went on to graduate from Florida Atlantic University with a Degree in English.
In February 1981, Frank took a chance, accepting a job as Assistant Manager with Walgreens in San Antonio. He quickly was promoted to Store Manager, and was trusted with running the biggest Walgreens stores in the city. From there, Frank accepted a position with Advantage Sales & Marketing. His hard work again earned him many promotions, eventually reaching Senior Vice President. Frank was able to retire in 2014. In his spare time, Frank was a State Champion Bowler, a self admitted "average golfer" and loved riding his Harley. He recently was able to fulfill a lifetime dream, by purchasing his first Corvette.
Frank found our Lord and was a devote Christian, husband, father, and friend. His faith was a source of inspiration to all that knew him, especially as he fought his illness. He said many times, "I've lived a blessed life, with an amazing wife, 4 great sons, 4 perfect grandchildren, and droves of friends." During his most recent hospitalization, Frank noticed an elderly Orderly, who was limping. Frank asked this gentleman if it's ok to pray for him. Always thinking of others, the compassion and love he showed his fellow brothers and sisters, gave motivation to all.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother Gwendolyn in December 1993, and a very close dear friend, Bob McCormick, 3 days prior to Frank's passing.
Frank is survived by his wife Sandra Jean Morris. Frank had NO problem letting everyone know that "Sandie" was his "Dream Girl". Frank absolutely adored Sandie and everyone knew it. And Sons Justin Elliot Morris and Jason David Morris. Stepson Arturo Mendoza Perez Jr, his wife Patricia Carbajal, and their children, Ashley Summer, Adam Xavier, and Priscilla Jean.
