He was born on January 29, 1931 in Fentress, Texas to Jesus and Manuela (Trejo) Gonzales. He married Mary Lou Salazar on October 14th, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas. Together they raised two children, Frank and Gilbert.
He worked his way up to dispatcher for Scobey Moving Company where he worked for over 50 years. Frank truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; Friday afternoon beers with his son and Sunday lunches with the family. Frank was actively involved in his church, St. Anthony de Padua, as a eucharistic minister and calling bingo as a member of the Senior Citizens group.
Frank is survived by his sister Elisa, son Gilbert (Lisa), grandchildren Christina (Rolando), Kathy, Paul (Terah), Michael (Jessica), and Rebekah. Frank also leaves behind two great-granddaughters, Cristiana “Isa” and Thea.
Frank is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou, brothers Raymond, Jesse, Joe Daniel, sister Irma, and son Frank (survived by Monica).
Family and friends are invited to the viewing on March 17th from 5-7pm, followed by the rosary at 7pm. Funeral service will be held March 18th at 11:30am with burial to follow at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery at 1pm. Viewing, rosary, and funeral will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218.
