It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Francis Albert Frischenmeyer, Jr. Known to all his family and friends as “Bud”, he departed this world on the morning of June 05, 2023 in the comfort of his own home in San Antonio, Texas.
Born in Vallejo, California on September 28th, 1947, Bud was raised on the Texas coast in Aransas Pass where he graduated high school before joining the Air Force at the age of 18. He served abroad before leaving the military with the rank of an E-5 Staff Sergeant. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and proud to have served his country.
Bud was an avid outdoorsman. His passion and love of hunting and fishing throughout his life were unmatched. He could always be found engaging in some sort of activity outdoors. Over the years, he continually advocated for his fellow Veterans to get the recognition they earned and deserved.
He is survived by the love of his life, Helyne, whom he was married to for 52 years and his son Steven. He joins his daughter Deborah who passed away in 1993. He also leaves behind his sister Shirley Messina, as well as close family and friends.
Bud’s pride and joy were his two grandsons Jett Dean and Gage Byron. He enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could sharing his wisdom and stories of his life adventures.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, June 26 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209 at 10:00 am at Pavilion #4. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations are made to a charity of your choice benefiting Veterans.
