She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Jose, as well as her sister Ramona, and brothers Jorge, Humberto, and Rogelio.
Her family later moved to Laredo, Texas where she graduated from San Augustine High School. Later she met her future husband while working at the downtown Laredo Kress store.
They moved to San Antonio where they spent the rest of their married life raising two children (Nora and Jose Jr). Frances (Nena) worked at Handy Andy as a cashier and later worked as a secretary at various campuses for the Edgewood Independent School District for some 27Yrs until she retired. Her greatest joy in life next to her family was helping people, especially those from Edgewood ISD and St John Berchmans Catholic (her parish). She was very involved in the PTA, the District politics, the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA), and the Edgewood Lion’s Club. She made many lifetime friends through these associations. Family from both sides of the marriage meant so much to her. The families were always getting together barbecuing or just visiting. Another thing she loved to do was cook and she was known for her great dishes. Her reputation for her cooking was always a topic of conversation. She often cooked her beans, rice, and calabaza con Puerco for school functions, family, or friends for various happy or sad occasions. She always helped when she could.
She was a devoted Catholic. She went to Mass every Sunday and prayed the rosary every day at 3pm for all her family and friends and their families. She believed in the power of prayer and urged everyone to pray.
