Florene Virginia Rogers of San Antonio, Texas passed away May 3, 2018. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 12, 1940. Florene V. Rogers graduated from Bloomfield High School and later received an Associate Degree of Nursing from San Antonio College. She was married to Melvin Lee Rogers.
Florene worked in Nursing for the United States Army, Lutheran General Hospital Colonial Hills, and Promise. She was a member of Livingway Christian Center and had a passion for music, reading, and Jazzercize.
Florene was preceded in death by her parents, James Arthur Biles and Clara Mae (Perry) Biles, her husband, Melvin Rogers, and her siblings, Arthur Biles, Garland Biles, and Irene Biles. She is survived by her children, Melva Kaye Rogers, and Traci Clarice Hunter; her siblings, Perry Biles, Dorothy Biles, Zenola T. Biles, James Biles, Jr., David Biles, Juanita Smith, Marian Perry, Arnold Perry, John Perry; and her honorary sister, Barbara Burford.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 24th at 10:00 am at Livingway Church; 13285 IH 35 North Frontage Rd; San Antonio, TX 78233 followed by a Committal Service at 11:15 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors.
