Florencio J. Rodriguez, age 83, was called home by our Heavenly Father on April 8, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his loving family. "A devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God." -Acts 10:2 Florencio was a man of integrity and strength, a man's whose focus was to provide for and take care of his family. He was an incredibly loving, caring, generous, kind-hearted, hardworking father, grandfather, brother, uncle, ACTS brother and friend to many. He was also a member of VFW Post 9174 and the American Legion where he enjoyed spending time with his comrades at arms. He was born on December 3, 1934 in Houston, Texas to Lorenzo and Guadalupe Rodriguez. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marcelina Rodriguez and sister Ernestina Alarcon. Florencio is survived by his children, Dolores Guardiola, John (Eva) Rodriguez, DuAnn (Angel) Alarcon, Maria G. Flores, Robert (Sandra) Rullan; grandchildren, Olivia Guardiola, Melissa Guardiola, Carlos Guardiola III, Daysia Alarcon, Jalen Alarcon, Christopher (Christina) Rullan, Alexis Rullan, Santa Ana Munoz, Antonia (Pedro) Escamilla, Fernando Munoz, Jr., Estella Smith, Robert Smith; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Angelina Cavazos and numerous nieces and nephews. The Rodriguez family will receive friends for visitation at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. The funeral procession will depart Sunset Northwest Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 26, 2018 for an 11:00 A.M. mass at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 4222 SW Loop 410 78227, with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with U.S. Air Force military honors.
