

As a young woman she was a Guadalupana at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was an avid reader of current events and religious literature. She was a skilled seamstress and very talented at embroidery. She loved plants and flowers, her garden brought her great joy and peace. She was an excellent cook, her kitchen was a gathering place for friends and family, where many tortillas were eaten and lots of coffee drank.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roberto R. Riojas; infant sons Manuel and Gene Riojas; great-grandchild Elena Marie Huerta; parents, Guadalupe M. and Nicolasa V. Carrillo; brothers, Arnulfo V., Carlos V., Leopoldo V. Carrillo, and sister Margarita C. Rodriguez.
She is survived by her children, Roberto C. Jr., Elizabeth C., Ernesto C., Manuela C., Michael C., Ralph C., and Monica R. Rodriguez; grandchildren, Michael and Marizel (Roberto’s); Ernesto Jr. and Sarah Ann (Ernesto’s); Dyvette, Erica and Janelle (Michael’s); Candace and Cassandra (Monica’s). nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brothers Oscar V. and Jesse V. Carrillo; sister, Manuela C. Hansen; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will be missed by her four loyal dogs, one fearless cat and too many wild birds to count.
There will be a Visitation held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. With the Roary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. On Friday, May 31, 2024 there will be a 10:00 a.m. Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St John Berchmans Church, 1147 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, TX 78226.
