Feyona ‘Bo’ Eagan Mills passed away on March 21, 2014 following a short illness. She was born October 29, 1925 in Phoenix, Arizona. Her late husband, John Ignatius Eagan, died on October 1, 1998. She married George Mills in 2005. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona, Married John Eagan on October 1, 1945 in Flagstaff, Arizona, and had five children: Sandy Bechtold (Bruce) of Phoenixville, PA, Diana Michalke (Arnold) of Chantilly, VA, Michael Eagan (Terry) of Portland, OR, Paul Eagan (Linda) of Spicewood, TX, and Margaret Eagan of Geneva, IL. Their marriage took the family to many places with the U.S. Air Force: Germany, Texas, Oklahoma, England, Nevada and back to Randolph AFB in San Antonio. For ten years prior to John’s retirement they lived in Beeville where John taught navigation at the Navy flight school before permanently settling in San Antonio. Bo experienced the Berlin Airlift as a new bride. There were many stories, friends, and reunions.
In addition to her children she is survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 4 nieces. Her surviving sister, Anita Reichel, resides in San Francisco, CA. Bo was an avid gardener, was President of San Antonio Garden Center and held several positions at the Holly Garden Club. She was also a member of the Officers’ Wives and Widows Club at Randolph AFB and Ft. Sam Houston Army Base. She also volunteered in many groups over her lifetime. Painting was an avocation she inherited from her father and her paintings now hang in many family homes.
Graveside service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3303 Urban Crest.
