It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Fernando Collazo Sr. on March 26, 2017. He was surrounded by his children, grandchildren and the love of his life, Margarita Romo Collazo. Fernando was born in Laredo Texas on June 17th, 1937 and eventually moved to San Antonio and served in the United States Airforce as a policeman at Lackland AFB. Fernando then went on to successfully enjoy a career as a General Contractor and Home Builder. Fernando was actively involved in several organizations including a position as President of the Catholic Youth Organization at St. Luke’s Catholic School, President for the League of Exceptional Children and President of the San Antonio Trap Shooting Association. He enjoyed hunting, trapshooting, grilling, listening to great music, dancing and just spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Gerardo and Manuela (Garcia) Collazo, Brothers: Pedro, Rodolfo, Ignacio, Jose, Jorge, Luis Manual, Romeo Oscar, and sister Trine. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Margarita Collazo. Children: Fernando Collazo Jr. (Wife, Colleen) and Patsy Sacco (Husband, Rick) Grandchildren: Dillon Collazo, Cameron Collazo, Morgan Sacco, Mia Sacco & Chase Sacco. Brothers: Robert Collazo and Raul Collazo, as well as numerous nieces’ nephews and loved ones. The Family wishes to thank his caregivers: Julie Jones, Kirsten Watkins, Matilda Dimas & Paty Garcia for the wonderful treatment he received while under their care.
Memorial Mass to be held at St. Joseph’s of Honey Creek, 25781 TX 46, Spring Branch, TX 78070 on April 8, 2017 at 10:00 am.
