Fern Dresch

Our beloved Mother and Mim entered the gates of Heaven on January 3, 2011. Fern “Cricket” Dresch was born on December 21, 1924 and was married to Denver Dresch for 58 years, who preceded her in 2000. Fern spent most of her life caring for her children and her dogs, whom she always considered her children. She had an unending love for nature as she loved filling the bird feeders in her yard and working in the garden and maintaining her immaculate lawn. Every weekend was spent mowing her lawn precisely as she would not consider entrusting that responsibility to anyone else. She enjoyed attending monthly cousin’s lunches. Her love of Christ and family were of utmost importance. In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Carol Gaither. Fern is survived by her sons, Mike Dresch and wife Sharon and Gary Dresch and wife Evelyn; sisters Lenora (Dannie) Rollins and Joy Lorriess Denney; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:00am, at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway. Pastor Matt Rice officiating.
