Felix Valdez Sr., age 91, joined his Savior in Heaven on June 2, 2016. He was born November 14, 1924 in Mission, Texas to Feliciano and Angelica Valdez. He married the love of his life, Guadalupe Flores Valdez on May 31, 1947. He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe; children: Mary Clay of San Antonio, Felix (Glenda) Valdez Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama, Denise (Kenn) Kantola of San Antonio, Gerry (Sandra) Valdez of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings: David (Queta) Valdez of San Antonio, Noemi Estrada of Eagle Pass, Daniel (Aurora) Valdez of San Antonio, Moises (Ofelia) Valdez of Eagle Pass, and Anita (Oscar) Galvan of Eagle Pass. Felix was an army veteran serving during WWII in France, Germany, and North Africa. He worked as a civil servant at Kelly before retiring. He lived a life of service to his God and his churches including Edgewood Baptist church, Helotes Baptist Church, and Crossroads Baptist Church where he served many years as an ordained Deacon. He loved singing in the choir and working alongside his wife in the Food Pantry, on the Benevolence committee and staffing a free clinic sponsored by the church. In addition, Felix loved making handmade wood projects as gifts for his family. He also was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:0 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church, 8300 Tezel. Celebration of life will take place at the Church at 10:00 a.m. After lunch, you may join the family at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery for a 1:45 p.m. graveside service with Army honors.
