On August 21, 2013, our mother, Eva PerezGarcia Trevino was called to her heavenly Father's arms. Eva was born on August 5, 1930 in Laredo, TX. Her husband of 51 years, T. Oscar Trevino and her parents, Luis PerezGarcia and Amelia Ramon PerezGarcia, preceded her in death. She is survived by a large family who love her and who miss her dearly: children, Jose E. Trevino (Amy), Luis A. Trevino (Amanda), Margaret Thompson (Roy), Ana Garces (Rick), Luci McManus (Sam), T. Oscar Trevino Jr. (Carol), and Dina Trevino (Rupert Tijerina), 17 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members. At the time of her death, our mother was surrounded by people who love and care about her. Above all, she was close to her brother, Felipe PerezGarcia (Olga) of Laredo and sister Ana Zuniga (Jesus) of San Antonio, in-laws Dr. Jose T. Sepulveda and his wife Aniece of San Antonio, and Grace Parduhn of Kentucky. Her brother Luis PerezGarcia and sister-in-law Maria Evelia preceded her in death. Our mother was an independent and socially involved woman who very much enjoyed her civic and social activities and engagements. She was most proud of her travels as she moved with her husband in his job with H.B. Zachry Company as they traveled to various places around the world and lived across Texas, the United States and internationally, in Chile, Peru, and Puerto Rico. She was active with the Pan American League of San Antonio since the 1960’s where she served as President, was involved in policy making, event planning, and many other capacities. She also was active with Wolf Trail Kids Camp, an outdoor wilderness camp established in the 1970s that served underprivileged inner city children. She was an active volunteer with Wolf Trails serving various capacities, including being an active fund raiser, policy setter, and board member. In addition to raising a family and being involved in civic activities, she worked at Jefferson High School in the 1970's where she was a permanent substitute teacher and also was involved with real estate, getting her broker's license and running an independent real estate agency in the 1980's and 1990's. In lieu of flowers, we are honoring her memory by asking for donations to a charity of your choice. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27,2013 at Northwest Sunset Funeral Home at 6321 Bandera Road from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Mass will be 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive with interment immediately after at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at 17501 Nacogdoches Road.
