June 02, 1930 – September 28, 2024
Our beloved Eugenio S. Rubalcava was born on June 02, 1930, at home in San Antonio, Texas and was called to be with our Lord on September 28, 2024, at the age of 94. Eugenio was preceded in death by his loving wife Eloisa N. Rubalcava, grandson Christopher Soria-Rubalcava, parents Gilberto and Josefa Rubalcava, brothers Gilberto and Balbino Rubalcava, sisters Guadalupe Aguirre, Gertrude Sauceda and Minerva Guzman and his fur babies Zack and Parker. Eugenio is survived by his sons Eugene, Michael and Robert Rubalcava, daughters Catherine Perez (Alejandro) and Debra Barry (James), grandchildren Tamara and Alejandro Perez, fur baby Kane, and many nieces and nephews.
Eugenio was a man of great faith in our Lord. He prayed for his loving Family Daily. His path of life began with his Family as a migrant worker at a very young age traveling north to harvest, potatoes, corn, beets, peas. The Family also picked cotton in Texas. His father, Gilberto Rubalcava eventually purchased Trucks and continued to harvest crops, proudly affixed them with “Gilbert Rubalcava & Son’s – San Antonio, Texas”. These were formative years for Eugenio, etching the foundation of his unwavering work ethic and the great man to become. Prior to marrying his loving wife Eloisa, Eugenio worked in a meat processing plant. His path transcended into what was to become his lifelong career for more than 30 years, becoming a Master Welder. Eugenio continued to be productive for 11 more years working as a Custodian. To the amazement of his Family, embraced by Teachers and Students, Eugenio radiated a sense of fulfillment.
Our Lord forged Eugenio’s strength and sense of peace. Love for his Family and his Family’s love for him enriched his life with happiness. Faith in the Lord and love for Family defined the life of Eugenio Rubalcava.
