Esther Mary Schuh, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2012, after a brief illness. She was born in San Antonio on December 24, 1927 to Alvin and Elsie Gleitz Friesenhahn. She is survived by her daughters, Evie Walford, Marty Schuh and Jo Schuh; grandson, J.P. Walford; sister-in-law, Barbara Walker; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence John Schuh, and son, Tommy. She was a long-time employee at City Public Service and retired from there in 1989. Her second career after retirement was helping to raise her beloved grandson. She was an avid quilter and gardener when she did not have her nose buried in a book. She loved to travel and take cruises, with some of her favorite places being Alaska and Europe. After being widowed at a young age, she raised her three daughters on her own. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. Visitation starting at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church, 700 Dewhurst.
