Ernesto Roberto “Ernie” Guerrero was called home to the Lord on Wednesday morning, September 5, 2012 at the age of 69. He was born February 9, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Valente and Jovita Guerrero. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Oralia Guerrero. He is also survived by his children, Monica E. Guerrero (Janet), Ernesto R. Guerrero, Jr., Marissa A. Guerrero, Margo D. Guerrero (Steve), Eric M. Guerrero (Christina), and Bianca Rachell Guerrero (Ross). His grandchildren are, Adriana N. Cortez, Juliana Guerrero, Anjelica R. Cortez, Isabella Guerrero, Edward Guerrero, and Devin L. Guerrero. He was a dedicated employee at South Texas Optical for over 33 years. He was a hard worker who never missed a day of work regardless of his health conditions. He loved his craft of making eyeglasses. His smiling face and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his co-workers and his many clients. Ernie also had a strong love for music. Since his teenage years, he played the bass guitar in many different bands. In the 1960’s he joined the band Little Joe and the VIP’s. They played at all the popular “night spots” in and around San Antonio. By the late 1970’s, they expanded club dates to include all military installations like the officers clubs, NCO clubs, and the USO. Ernie touched many lives. His witness and frank sense of humor will be forever missed. We will miss you Dad! The Rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 700 Dewhurst. The interment will be held at a later date.
