Ernestina S. Tamez

Ernestina S. Tamez, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 27, 2012, at the age of 85. She was born in Brownsville, Texas, to parents Cecilio & Juanita Sotuyo, on September 20, 1926. Ernestina was a true Spurs fan and will always be remembered for her love of the YMCA, where she swam with the Seniors. She also enjoyed much of her time with her friends at the Senior Center at St. Mary’s. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Ernestina was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Jose H. Tamez; sisters, Ann Sotuyo, Flora Garcia, and Cecilia Munoz; brothers, Guadalupe Sotuyo and Gilberto Sotuyo. She is survived by her son, Fred B. Tamez (Elma); daughter, Patricia Boudjellal; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Maria Zuniga (Antonio); brother, Alfonso Sotuyo; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. The family would like to acknowledge the professionals at Harbor Hospice and Memorial Medical Center for their kind help.
