Erasmo Diaz, age 92, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 in Poteet, Texas surrounded by family. Erasmo was born July 4, 1929 in San Antonio to Yndalecio and Eleuteria Diaz. From an early age he showed a love for race horses. He enjoyed agriculture and raising different animals on the farm. Later on he went to work at Kelly Air Force Base as a welder and would be there for 35 years before retiring at the age of 55.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Adelina, Nina, Eva, Marie, and Stella; his brothers Tony and Yndalecio Jr; and nephew Richard. He is survived by his sister Angie; his brother Eloy; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and great grand nieces.
A visitation for Erasmo will be held Monday, November 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, a funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 AM for a funeral service at 10:00 AM at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church, 142 E Lambert St, San Antonio, TX 78204 with burial to follow at Diaz Family Cemetery, Poteet, TX 78065.
The Diaz family would like to extend their thanks to the primary doctors that had helped take care of Erasmo when he began to fall ill.
