 My deepest condolences to Tia Vita, Henry Jr. Margarita and Elia for the passing of Tio Henry Lopez.
I remember visiting Grandma Lozano at 1818 Chihuahua, between La Calle Calaveras Street and la Calle Chupaderas and having lots of fun with my cousins.  At the time Tio Henry worked for Roegelein and he BBQ’d , beef short ribs, sausage, super tender delicious brisket and he was best known for the delicacy BBQ’d Tripas!  Tio Henry was very generous and he was the original BBQ Pit Boss, he was armed with a custom built BBQ pit with a supply of oak  fire wood. The neighbors always knew when he fired up the pit by the sweet BBQ smell in the air, Tio always made sure they ate well too. 
I remember one time I was driving by his favorite drinking place called Packers and I saw his green pickup so I stopped. I was greeted by Tio Henry with his classic smile and kindness,  we had a drink and what I remember most of all was that everyone at the place treated me like royalty because I was Tio Henry Lopez nephew. 
Tio Henry is a one of a kind cool guy that always dressed sharp and was highly respected by all. Tio Henry is a special person who you have the pleasure knowing once in a life time. 
Tio Rest In Peace and you will be greatly missed.

Ever since I was little and ever since I can remember the one thing that my uncle did and would make me laugh just the way he said it and his stance in the hand movements would say the rest and that is  El pretty good looking boy! Up to this day when I saw him and talk to him almost every other weekend I would see him at the table  and yell (pretty good looking boy )and and he would yell out to me  hey javi Is that you cause I am right here !!! Going to miss that ! Love you tio Sincerely Javier🙏

Tio Siflon was a person most of us strive to be our whole lives. He was a family man... cared about everybody and always had a smile on his face.  His ethics were simple; work hard and take care of your family. I remember some weekends going to Tio and Tia's house and having Tio Siflon's legendary barbeque. He was a true legend behind the pit. We would all gather around those picnic tables and  just spend quality time together as a family. Life just seemed easier and meaningful those days. 

I remember the weddings and quinceaneras watching Tio and Tia dance all night long and let's not forget, the legendary "back kick". 

Tio, I will miss you dearly.. As you said good bye back in the day, 10-4,  10-50. 

Tia Vita, Margaret, Elia, Nuno, Laura, Victoria, Markie, Paul.... I am sorry for your loss. Tio is a "one of a kind and will be missed dearly. He will now start his new life with no pain and suffering.  

Tio "Say Hi" to all of our loved ones in Heaven and we will all meet again soon and share these wonderful memories again. 

Our fondest memories of Tío Siflon is seeing him wear his “Stacy Adams” shoes standing around the barbecue pit barbecuing.   He always had a good  funny story to tell.  He was nice to everyone and he always had a smile on his face.  Just a good guy overall!!

The memories that I have from Tio Henry are when we would go and visit grandma Lozano.  We all lived on the same block. Tia Mela lived across the street,  next door to Tia Mela lived Little Mary with Tio Roger, and at the corner down the street lived Tio Henry and Tia Vita. We all played in the street late at night while the grown up stayed inside with grandma Lozano talking. I also remember the day Tio Henry bought the new Chevy pickup. That Chevy truck was his pride and joy. He asked my dad about his thought of putting a camper on the back.  When he got the camper we used it for camping. 

As a kid, I remember my grandpa picking me up (in his "old school banana-yellow car" as I would call it) to spend every other weekend with them .  He didn't take the highways though, he took Zarzamora all the way from the Southside.  He would always stop and have a beer and every single time he would get me a carne guisada w/ cheese taco.  Every other weekend.  Every summer.  Every time.  And believe it or not I promise you to this day ...if I'm having tacos for breakfast, lunch or dinner, I always order carne guisada w/ cheese!  Thanks for that Grandpa.  

His dedication to his work and love for his family have always stuck with me and have made me a stronger man.  My grandpa was a great example of just that, a strong man and a provider.  He's shown all of us, well... most of us, what it means to be Familia.  Through it all, my Grandpa had my back and I'll always be his boy.   (And guys, let's admit it.  We're all a better flirt because of good ol' Siflon!  Lol.)  

Words can't express the loss we all feel, but I really find comfort in knowing that all his hard days of working and providing and pushing have paid off.  Grandpa woke up on March 29th able to see again.  Able to hear again.  Able to listen to his favorite music and throw back as many Old Milwaukees on every beautiful day for Eternity.  He's at peace and that's all we could've ever asked for.  Thank you all for your love during this time.    


My fond memory of Tio Siflon was how he told his jokes and funny stories. We could sit for hours listening to him.  He just always made us laugh - definitely a family jokester.  Of course how could anyone forget those delicious flautas.  OMG......

Love when he would make gatherings at his house for the family because he would love to entertain his whole family with his good tasty food and he would always be there joking around with my dad and my mom and everybody just having a good time, those were beautiful memories we remember  of Tio Enrique Lopez ....

I Knew Enrique for over 13 years.  And after I started Dating Elia after 3 months I started to call him Dad.  The past 2 in a half years I got to know him much more.  He loved to eat his Pan Dulce after every meal.  Dad would always ask if his Wife Vita was eating well.  She did not live with us but was always asking about her and concerned for her.  
Dad liked to flirt with the ladies, the Aid that would come shower him and the nurses too.
He was my 2nd Dad I will miss him so.
I remember asking him one day, Enrique can I call you Dad, he said I don't know, ask Elia.


It was with great sadness that I learned of Tio Henry's passing.  

My deepest condolences to Tia Vita, Henry (Jr.), Margaret and Elia and the entire family.  My prayers go out to each and everyone of you.  May he Rest In Peace, and let perpetual light shine upon him forever.  Amen.

Grandpa. I always knew I was your favorite. The 2 dollars you gave me for chips and a “soda water” during elementary school always felt as if I was rich. Sitting on your carpet floor, watching Friday night boxing fights on ESPN was always a fun time. Most of the time you’d predict who the winner was based on the color of trunks. You also had my back when nobody else did on the worst day of my life Aug 2,2003. I’ll always cherish your slow walk down the hallway, smelling grandmas beans after drinking beers with the neighbors in the afternoon. I can hear you yelling Vita right now while grandma asking Que Quiere Siflon. One day I’ll join you for some Old Milwaukee or Busch up in heaven. I’m the last shot you got to carry on the Lopez name and I hope to pass it on for another lifetime. Till then I Love You Grandpa.

My Tio  was one of a kind and will never be duplicated. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family.  He was what we call today the “Original Pitmaster”...I can still taste his awesome flautas, tripas, and enchiladas...they were always cooked to perfection...and he took pride in his BBQ.  I remember playing cards and dominoes on the wooded picnic table at his house off Ridgewood. 

Tia Vita, Nuno, Margaret, and Elia...I’m sorry for your lose here on earth...but he is now pain free with Our Heavenly Father...TGBTG

Tio thank you so much for all the memories and rest assured you have influenced my adult life in so many ways...may you Rest In Peace and watch over us as we remain in this crazy world...until we meet again.

I love you Tio!!!

Tio had many qualities.  His love for family is something I will eternally be grateful for.  When dad (his youngest brother)  passed,  he always made it a point to stop by and check on us , of course on his way to Packers.  He would say "Tiene que llegar el pretty lookin' boy, you know"  with that big smile of his.
Thank you Tio!  

My Father was a very proud man.  In his work, his family and especially his wife and children. He provided everything we needed when it came to food and shelter. While working for the City of San Antonio, he brought paperwork for City Openings and finally encouraged me to apply. I thank him for his encouragement and 20 years later retiring  from the San Antonio Police Dispatch Office. He made sure I also provided for my family as a single parent. I'll always be grateful for that. 

I will always remember those delicious flautas he made.  As a young girl, we would go over on the weekends and spend time with my cousins, Aunt & Uncle.  

My dear godfather Mr. Enrique T Lopez that God had pointed to me through my parents Mr.Mrs.Raul Lozano senior. My uncle is a very strong minded and a very hard worker he supported his wife with three children he would wake up early in the morning daily to support them. He loved to barbecue and I got that habit from him, he is definitely a role model for me and I will continue to have him as my role model.

     Let us not be selfish we have a bigger family in heaven than we do down here soon we all will reunite together in heaven I promise you these words through God. I love you all very much..

When We were young, Dad would come in after some beers at Packers inn late at night like 10pm , and would wake us up. because he bought  us crispy tacos, from whole in the wall on the west side.  Mom did not like that she would wake us up, But did not mind cuz those were some good Tacos.

As a kid  I loved watching him dance.  

He was so smooth and looked like he floated on air.  When I finally had the opportunity to dance with him I was crushed and embarrassed because I couldn’t follow him...of course, he still led me across the floor without making me feel bad.   

I don’t think I ever fully learned how to follow him on the dance floor.  However, I still always loved watching him dance!
