Emma G. Sierra of San Antonio, TX passed away on July 18, 2022. She was born in Monterrey, Mexico on August 13, 1928 to Contancio and Acropaga Garza. She was married to Jose E. Sierra for 26 years. Emma was a homemaker that kept her home spotless. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and making crafts at the Comanche Senior Center.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She supported Father Flanagan’s Boys Town, St. Jude Hospital, Disabled Army Veterans, Our Lady of San Juan, Sacred Heart and the Oblates Missionaries. She was most proud of completing all the classes to become a U.S. citizen.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose E. Sierra; her parents; three brothers, Salomon, Hector and Alfonso Garza; and her sister, Ester Garza. In-laws, Antonia Sierra, Frances Sambrano, Anselmo Sierra, Jesus Sierra, Imelda Bundick and Alejandro Sierra.
She is survived by Ignacio and Bertha Sierra, Paul and Lynne Sierra, Ramona Sierra, Hortencia Sierra, numerous nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces as well as numerous family and friends.
A special thank you to all the family and friends for your prayers, love, support and especially coming to celebrate the life of a lady we all loved. Also thank you to the staff of Windcrest Senior Home, Kindred Hospice Care, Trevino Funeral Home, San Fernando Cemetery, Father Kevin and staff, volunteers of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
A visitation for Emma will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A rosary will occur Friday, August 19, 2022 at 6:30 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 618 S. Grimes Street, San Antonio, Texas 78203.
