Emma Faye (Nitsche) Harris, 71, of San Antonio, Texas, peacefully passed away on July 1st, from lung cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
She was born on January 15th, 1941 in Seguin, Texas to Joseph and Erna Nitsche. She married Clifford Harris on May 24th, 1958. They soon moved to Simi Valley, California where they lived for 10 years and then moved back to San Antonio. She was a beautician at many salons and worked at Montgomery Ward for many years where she made many friends. Cliff and Emma enjoyed traveling in their RV and meeting people at each new campground they ventured to. She lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed playing games, reading, crocheting, playing the slot machines, NASCAR and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, a son, Ronnie Harris and his wife, Laurie from Van Alstyne, Texas; two daughters, Annette Anderson of San Antonio and Dianna Stricker and husband Dwaine of Devine, Texas. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Chris (Courtney) and Kelly Anderson, Dwaine Jr, John and Lily Stricker and Brianna Connaughton, great-granddaughters, Rowan and Ariah Anderson. She is also survived by her sister in law Arlene Nitsche, niece Debbie Nitsche and nephew Larry Nitsche. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Erna Nitsche and her brother Joe Nitsche.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to cancer research.
