He was born in San Antonio, to parents Emilio and Margaret Garza, on March 14, 1935. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Emilio was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Petra; children, Gabriel Garza, Cynthia Kay Mayorga and her husband Joe, Rosalinda Ramon and her husband Ralph, Jimmy George Garza and his wife Joann, Rachel Garza, Benjamin Garza and his wife Joni, and Mary Elizabeth Gomez and her husband Antonio; grandchildren, Gabriel Emilio Garza Jr., Christopher Charles Sauceda, Joshua Ramon, Jeremy Ramon, Zachariah Garza, Lauren Salinas, Isidro Juan Flores, Leyana Flores, Priscilla Ramirez, Emilio Avery Garza, Taranee Garza, and Petra Garza; great grandchildren Isaac Flores Jr. and Danilo Bryan Leos; sister Lee Garcia and husband Joe, and numerous friends.
Emilio was a retired FedEx auto mechanic. Emilio always had a love of family, fishing, and outdoors. He spent many days creating hobbies and projects that were never finished. He loved to travel taking his family in a beat-up van while they all sang songs and yelled out the windows. This was his way of showing there is a child inside everyone. His sense of humor and playfulness was always contagious to those around him. Emilio inspired his children to be hard working, strive for success and keep hope alive. He also taught them to love your neighbors and offer help whenever necessary. He instilled in his family that money doesn’t make you wealthy, spending time with family and making priceless memories does. We were blessed to have him in this world while God allowed. He truly made a great impact in our lives and will be greatly missed. We love you dad and we’ll miss you. The family will receive friends at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N.
