Elvira Del Rose of San Antonio passed away January 28, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born to parents J. Refugio and Amparo Gonzalez Aguilar in Aguascalientes, Mexico on January 29, 1928. She married Arthur Del Rose and they remained a loving couple for 37 years until his death in 1997.
Elvira was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and was very active in the parish and the school. She was also active in several other social organizations.
Elvira ran her own jewelry business, Elvira’s Fine Jewelry for 30 years.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Del Rose, and her brother, Victor Aguilar.
Survivors include her 2 children: Eric Del Rose and wife Brenda and Denise Rasmussen and husband Richard; grandchildren: Amy, Sophia, Eric John and Evan; and her sisters: Estella Rodriguez, Graciela Kennard, Juan Aguilar, Cristina Avalos, Martha Aguilar and Elsa Aguilar.
A visitation will be Friday, February 1 from 5PM to 7PM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7PM.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be Friday, February 8 at 1PM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery following mass.
