Elva “Elvita” D. Campa, age 88, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born in Parcel, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 15, 1934, to Toribio and Felicitas Diaz. Elva was a devoted military wife who stood by her soldier's side throughout his 20 years of service with the U.S. Air Force.
Elva was completely devoted to her family. She loved to cook, dance, and share childhood stories. Elva’s kind smile welcomed all those she came across.
Elva is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband of 52 years, Ricardo F. Campa; her sister-in-law Zulema Muñiz, sister Ramona Campbell, brother Meliton Diaz, and brother Isidoro Hernandez. She is survived by her 4 children, Richard Campa (Beverly), Antonia Campa, Philip Campa, and Diana Campa Del Rosario (Rick); her grandchildren, Richie Hopper (Alex) and Ethan Campa; her great grandchild Rafael Diego Hopper; grandogs LaLa and Guera; her siblings, sister-in-law Guadalupe Hernandez, sister Enedina Hernandez, and brother- in - law Ernest R. Muñiz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and Crest Home Hospice for helping care of Elva.
A visitation for Elva will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78205. Funeral mass will occur Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at San Fernando Cathedral, 115 Main Plaza, San Antonio, Texas 78205. Burial to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
