Elizabeth Elaine Foster Staglik peacefully left this world early Thursday morning of October 12, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on April 12, 1938, in San Antonio, she lived a full life of 85 years punctuated by her deep love of family and friends. A loving wife, mother, and friend, Elaine had a gifted talent as an artist with paint, various crafts, and piano. She loved to read and travel to see her family abroad and experience new countries and cultures with many long-time friends abroad in Belgium and Italy. She was an enthusiastic and smart horsewoman, bridge player, and dance partner who loved waltzing with Louis at the local Hill Country dance clubs’ events. A terrific community organizer, Elaine loved the Texas Hill Country and the communities of Comfort and Cypress Creek…the annual Comfort 4th of July celebration and Cypress Creek events would not be what they are today without the creativity, work, and commitment from Elaine, Louis and their great group of friends!
Elaine leaves behind her children, daughter, Dr. Stace’ Staglik Rust of the San Antonio Methodist Hospital System, and her son, Mr. Steven Foster Staglik, President of San Antonio Armature works. Her son-in-law, Colonel, USAF (Ret) Jeffrey Rust and four Grandchildren, Stephen Foster Rust of San Antonio, Texas, Kathleen Louise Rust of Lawrence, Kansas, Louis Glen Staglik of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Sybil Calais Staglik of Nashville, Tennessee. Her family was with her when she left this world on her terms and in a very loving environment…she will be dearly missed, but her spirit lives on. She is reunited with her beloved Louis George and her parents, Herbert Symes “English” Foster, and Amelia Emma Postert Foster and her many relatives and friends.
A public visitation will occur on Wednesday, October 25 from 6:00-8:00 PM and the funeral service and internment will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218. In lieu of flowers, the family request a charitable donation be made to The Comfort Boys & Girls Club Boys & Girls Club of Texas Hill Country | After School and Summer Programs (bgcatxhc.org) or Morgan’s for Special Needs https://morgans.org/ in memoriam of and tribute to Elizabeth Elaine Foster Staglik.
