Elizabeth Moreno

went Home to rest on September 25, 2024,

in San Antonio, Texas. She has been reunited with her parents, Gilberto G. Moreno and Natalia B. Moreno, and brother, Jose “Joey” Moreno.

Her life was marked by a tremendous faith, hope, and love for God. In everything she experienced,

whether triumph or hardship, she left it to her Heavenly Father, Whom she regularly called out to in

prayer with complete confidence in His love and mercy. She had a great devotion to the Most Holy Name

of Jesus, and demonstrated her devotion - living fully in the power of that Great Name.

Elizabeth did whatever she could to ensure that her family, especially her two most precious treasures -

her daughters, would not want for anything. She loved lavishly, and enjoyed spending her time

celebrating life’s big and small moments with her family, accompanying each person or animal she

encountered in their joy and in their sorrow. Elizabeth had a way of encouraging people through simply

talking and just being fully present with them. She was often the life of the party, spontaneously

bursting into song or regaling her listeners with tales of her life experiences. She was fiercely patriotic,

and enjoyed engaging in friendly debates about current events and politics. She was an artist, and lived a

vibrant and colorful life. She enjoyed calligraphy, making wreaths and crafting with bold colors.

Elizabeth was immensely proud of her family and her fur babies. Her face would beam radiantly

whenever she would talk about her two daughters, Crystal and Hannah, or any of her Kiddos. She is

survived by her daughters: Crystal Flowers and Hannah Moreno; son-in-law, Stephen Flowers; siblings:

Maria Moreno, Ester Moreno, Gilbert Moreno, and Natalie Moreno; niece and nephew: Angel McQuatters

and Tracy Torres; nephew-in-law, James McQuatters; grand-nieces: Gabriela McQuatters and Isabella

McQuatters; and many extended family members and friends. Her most cherished moments were those

spent in the company of her loved ones.

Elizabeth spent her life living and loving well. St. Paul’s words ring so true, “I have competed well; I have

finished the race; I have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the

Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all who have longed for his

appearance.” (2 Timothy 4:7). Elizabeth has gone forth to receive her heavenly crown as a daughter of the

King, “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of

slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship. When we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’ it

is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then

heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also

be glorified with him.” (Romans 8:14-17).
