Elizabeth F. Gutierrez

Elizabeth (Licha) F. Gutierrez, born February 8, 1932, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2017. She was born in Gonzales, TX.; one of nine children to Manuel and Josefa Flores. Elizabeth met the love of her life, Reymundo Gutierrez while both attending Irving Middle School. Reymundo & Elizabeth later married on August 7, 1953 in San Antonio, TX. They had six children together; Mary Ann, Raymond, Richard, Roger, Elizabeth, & Gail. Elizabeth was a loving mother and devoted wife for 64 years; also caring for her younger siblings after losing her parents at a young age. After many years of being a housewife, Elizabeth received the opportunity to travel the US with Reymundo while working with her sister in law Olga Bullock. She continued to love and enjoy her traveling; eventually retiring due to her limited mobility. Elizabeth loved watching her family grow; welcoming many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, siblings Manuel V. Flores, Estela F. Chavez, Agapito V. Flores, Gregorio V. Flores, Daniel V. Flores, Ester F. Cortinas, her son Raymond Gutierrez & wife Yolanda, & granddaughter Amy R. Gutierrez. She is survived by her husband Reymundo Gutierrez; siblings Samuel V. Flores & wife Hilda & Josefina F. Villarreal; her children Mary Ann & husband Gustavo Cantu, Richard Gutierrez & wife Joyce, Roger Gutierrez & wife Irene, Elizabeth & husband Michael J. Martinez, & Gail G. & husband Gabriel Garcia; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 26, 2017 from 6 – 8PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Rd. San Antonio, TX. 78238. Services will be held on Wednesday September 27, 2017 from 11:30 – 12:30PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home immediately followed by the precession to Fort Sam National Cemetery.
