Elisa Alvarado Muniz passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in San Antonio to Ignacio Alvarado and Juanita Tellez Alvarado who preceded her in death. Her sister Esther Alvarado also preceded her.
Elisa is survived by her loving husband of 54 years: Arnoldo Alfaro Muniz; sister: Rosita Glass; brother: Henry Alvarado; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Muniz was a graduate of Burbank High School and for a number of years worked as a Production Controller for a local Garment Factory. Later she worked for an Investment Company as a bookkeeper.
Elisa loved traveling and as a young woman toured most of Europe. Later, with her husband she visited most of the United States and toured Mexico and Canada. She was a self-taught gourmet cook and maintained a beautiful herb and vegetable garden.
Her skills with pottery and her birdhouses were a delight to see. She also created Baby Quilts for a number of her grand nieces and nephews.
Aunt Lisa will be missed by her “children” and Arnoldo will have to sing the hymn “He Lives” by himself every morning.

Visitation for Elisa will be held at Roy Akers Funeral Home on Monday, May 21, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday, June 22, 2021 the Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Roy Akers, with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
