Elida F. Ynman, a native of San Antonio was born on July 21, 1922 and passed away on January 24, 2012 at the age of 89. She was a strong advocate of volunteer service for many organizations such as the International Black and White Executive Committee, Sembradores de Amistad Chairman, Damas de Galvez, Leon Valley Business and Civic Committee, Forest Oaks Garden Club, San Antonio Garden Club. What was special to her was being a volunteer for the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital since its opening amassing over 30,000 hours of volunteer service a being awarded the Jefferson Award for Public Service. She was a long time member of St. Luke Catholic Church. Elida loved people and loved life and would help anyone in need. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Charles G. Ynman, her parents, Ignacio & Margarita Flores, sister, Dora and Husband Adolph Hernandez, brother, Ignacio (I.B.) Flores and sister-in-law Dora Flores. Elida is survived by her brother, Ramiro( R.B.) Flores, Sister-in law, Linda Burgess. sons, Charles (Marcia), Larry (Sylvia), grandchildren, Stephanie Mundy (David), April Renberg (Ben), Larry (Brigadette Garza-Fiance), Joshua R. Hernandez, Crystal Villanueva (Robert), Jacqueline Solis (Jerry), great granchildren, Elaine and Robert Charles (R.C.) Renberg, Marion, Marcia, Meredith and Joseph Charles Mundy, Christian & Chase Villanueva and 11 god childeren. The family would like to thank the staff of Kingsley Place Medical Center, Sonterra Health Center and Odyssey Hospice for their love and support. Visitation will begin at 5:00PM on Sunday, January 29 with a Rosary at 7:00PM at the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Resurrection will be at St. Luke Catholic Church on Monday, January 30 at 10:00AM. Interment will be Tuesday, February 7 at 11:30AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
