Elia F. Gonzales

Elia Fuentes-Gonzales, born April 22, 1935, in Laredo, TX went to be with the Lord January 7, 2012, San Antonio, TX. She is survived by: Mary Helen González (daughter) and spouse Dr. Héctor González, Louis Jr. Gonzales (son), Larry Gonzales (son) and Debra, Leroy Gonzales (son) and Guadalupe, and Michael Gonzales (son).She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in life by her parents Arturo and Maria. Her inheritance instilled a profound faith in God, and deep love for her family. A life committed to community work, volunteering and working with others teaching them job skills, and other relevant life tools. She taught us how to love by the way she adored her husband. Her strength and love taught us to embrace those values in raising our families. Through her morning and nightly prayers she sent blessings to those special to her and she instilled those beliefs in us. She is the light in our lives that will shine through all those she touched. At last, she will join her husband Luis, for eternity, and look down on her family from the heavens. A visitation will begin Sunday, January 15, 2012, 5:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home, Monday, January 16, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at San Juan de Los Lagos Catholic Church, 3231 El Paso St. with interment to follow in San Fernando II.
