Elena Salinas Duran

Our beloved Elena S. Duran joined her son Juan Ramirez in the arms of the heavenly Father on February 5, 2012. She lived out her final days with her family and loved ones by her side. Elena was born on July 25, 1925, in a small house in Brackenridge Park in San Antonio, Texas, to Juan and Refugia Salinas. Elena resided in San Antonio, Texas where she passes away at TRISUN CARE CENTER. Elena was a loving and caring daughter. Her joy in life was being a wife, and took great pride in raising her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elena is survived by her long time loving partner Johnny Kozok, children: Jesse Ramirez (Melinda), Elena Santos (Oscar), Frances Martinez (Rito),Santiago Duran (Margie), Joe Duran, Norma Garay (Vincent), Blanca Sosa, Gloria Escobedo, 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Trevino funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00a.m. Mass to be celebrated at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with interment to follow in San Fernando Cemetery No. 2. On behalf of the Duran family, we would like to extend out a very warm Thank You to the nursing staff at TRISUN CARE CENTER, who helped care for her during the last four years of her life!
