Elena L. Cortez born on March 12, 1932 in Atascosa,TX went to be with our Lord on May 17, 2011 at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Diamantina Laque her husband, Jose M. Cortez, Sr., her sons and daughter, Danny, Roger, and Joann Martha Cortez. She is survived by sons and daughters, Jaime Machado, Olga C. Gallegos, Diana C. Tijerina, Jose L. Cortez Jr., David lee Cortez, Leroy L. and Jackie C. Espinosa; 35 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren; also, brother, Ernesto Laque. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Procession will depart from the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May, 20, 2011 for a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.3.
