Lt Col Edgar Leo Richardson USAF, retired, born in Valier, Illinois on November 13, 1922, passed away on April 29, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 94. Edgar graduated with a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University. He served 30 years in the United State Air Force, from which he retired. Edgar served in World War II; two of those years were spent as a German prisoner of war. Once home, he owned several businesses, one of them being Richardson Lighting, and was also a home builder, and proud member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Leo Richardson and Vallie Purdy Richardson. Edgar is survived by his wife of 71 years, Adeline Richardson; children, Ron Richardson, Diana Rodriguez, Don Richardson, and Mary Ann Dillin; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Services will be at St. John Neumann Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 9:30 am with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
