Dwight Monroe Lloyd went to be with the lord on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the age of 66. He was born in Johnson City, TN on April 3, 1947 to Horace Monroe and Jessie Inez Hilton Lloyd. As a young child he was baptized at Central Baptist Church, Johnson City, TN and was a member there until he left for the military. He was a 1965 graduate of Science Hill High School in Johnson City, TN and attended East Tennessee State University before entering the U. S. Air Force. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force (Viet Nam and Desert Storm). He lived in San Antonio, Texas 34 years of his life. He is survived by his children, Jason Lloyd, Jennifer Lloyd, James Lloyd and their mother, Linda Lloyd; grandchildren, Lilliana Lloyd, Jaslynn Doster and Victoria Lloyd; sister, Sharon Willingham (Johnson City, TN); brother Rodney Lloyd (Johannesburg, South Africa) and several nieces and nephews. He was a devoted father who loved to spend time with his family. He especially enjoyed being at the lake with his boat. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Daddy will be in our hearts forever. The memorial service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd. The interment with military honors will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
