First met Duane in Uruguay as a child.  Good memories of his family and work in Uruguay.  Prayers will be lifted up for family and loved ones.  Peace.  Shannon

So thankful for Duane's life, his willingness to be an instrument in the Master's hand, and all the lives that were touched by God through him for eternity.

I will always remember Bro Schendel having a big smile on his face any time I saw him. Know that our prayers are with your family at this difficult time.

Darlene, I have sent a card, but I wanted to tell you that we are praying for you and your family. Duane was a great friend.  We have many good memories of both of you and of your faithful ministry.

Praise the Lord that he lived such an amazing life knowing and loving his Lord and Savior Jesus.  Even his long marriage with Darlene is a GRAND testimony to God's love and grace in Mr. Schendel's life.  Thank you Jesus for all that you did in this godly man's life!!  We are praying for your family.

   "My soul in sad exile was out on life's sea;  so burdened with sin and despair.    Till I heard a sweet voice,  saying, "Make me your choice"   And I entered the Haven of Rest !"    This was one of Duane's favorite songs.  He sang it and played it on the trumpet (in Spanish), and on occasion, I played it with him.   I was thankful to be able to visit him (and some of the family) on my trips to the Rio Grande Valley.   God bless you, Darlene and daughters, for your patient and loving care for Duane during the years since his accident.    My thoughts and prayers for you all,  Ray Pope     Psalm 91:2
