1st Sgt. Douglas C. Riddle, age 87, passed away on March 28, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on August 29, 1935 in Roda, Virginia. Douglas served in the Korean War and three tours in Vietnam as a combat medic. Douglas was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Carrie Riddle, his wife of 62 years, Marcela Riddle, and his daughters, Margery Ann Riddle and Gloria Jean Wesch. He is survived by his children, Douglas C. Riddle, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, and Darlene Sanchez and her husband, Gil; his grandchildren, Shondra Chirino and Kelly Sanchez, and his great grandchildren, Garrett D. Conroe-Riddle, Giavanna Chirino.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5th at 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow at 12:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park.
