Dorothy Justine Lutz, 90, passed away at home on October 20, 2011. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on December 12, 1920. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and sewing. Dorothy was one of Detroit’s “Rosie the Riveter”, using her skill and sense of humor to get through World War II. As an Air Force wife, she traveled the world bringing joy and laughter to everyone she met. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Edward. She is survived by her children, Monika, Phil, Chris, Mary-Beth, and their spouses; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. We would like to thank Inspiris Hospice, Professional Caretakers, and Erika, Mary, and Norma for providing such loving care. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, and a Rosary will be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
