Dorothy (Dede) Imig, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully after a long and blessed life at the age of 95. She was born to Otto Ludwig Urban and Charlotte Katherine Urban in Victoria, Texas. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Col. Paul Jacob Imig, their infant son Ronald James Imig and a brother James B. Urban. She is survived by her three children: Donald Paul Imig and wife Jill of Georgetown, TX, Gary Ray Imig and wife Pam of Cheyenne WY, and daughter Sharon Lynn Stripling of Garden Ridge, TX. Also, she is survived by six grandchildren: Michael Imig (Silke), Bonnie Gutierrez (Danny), Amanda Sanders (Mark), Katherine Stevenson (Austin), Cody Stripling (Karalee) and Amy Kanas (Justin). In addition, Dorothy was the proud great-grandmother of Alex, Anthony, Emily, Jacob, Peter, Charlotte, Connor and Avery. Some of the greatest pleasures in Dorothy’s life included traveling as an Air Force wife, baking and serving as a hospital and church volunteer. The family also wishes to remember special friends Judy and Julian Burt. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on November 14, 2017 at 1 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service to honor Dorothy’s life at 3 p.m. A reception will follow after the service. Private interment will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
